PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant in the aqueous phase of the body. In this process it is converted into the inactive and pro-oxidant form which no longer has antioxidant properties.

INDICATIONS
Because of its powerful antioxidant and anti-free radical action, vitamin C is beneficial in a wide variety of diseases including coronary heart disease, asthma and allergies as well as against infections including colds and flu when used correctly.

INTERACTIONS
Vitamin C may increase chromium absorption (Trace elements Electrolytes 1994, 11:178) High levels of vitamin C may decrease absorption of chromium (Am J Clin Nutr, 1983, 37:553). Supplemental vitamin C improves absorption of non-haem iron (Public Health Nutr. 2000, 3:105)

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS OF USE
Add half a glass of water to one slightly heaped teaspoon (6g, 2000mg vitamin C). Stir vigorously until dispersed and ingest immediately, including undissolved material (water- insoluble ascorbyl palmitate).
