Description
NOW – Magnesium Citrate 200mg 100s Tablets
Magnesium Citrate 200mg supports energy production, critical for enzyme function. Magnesium is a mineral that is critical for energy production and metabolism, muscle contraction, nerve impulse transmission, and bone mineralization. It is a required co‐factor for an estimated 300 enzymes. Among the reactions catalysed by these enzymes are fatty acid synthesis, protein synthesis, and glucose metabolism. Magnesium status is also important for regulation of calcium balance through its effects on the parathyroid gland.
Nervous System Support is also highlighted as a key attribute.
Suggested usage: Take 2 tablets daily with food.

✅ Possible Benefits:
-
Supports muscle and nerve function: Magnesium is critical for muscle contraction/relaxation and nerve signal transmission.
-
Helps maintain healthy bones and teeth: It works with calcium and vitamin D in bone mineralisation, and magnesium-citrate forms may improve magnesium status in bone tissue.
-
Supports the nervous system and may promote calm and better sleep: Some research links adequate magnesium to improved sleep quality and reduced anxiety.
-
May support cardiovascular health: Magnesium helps regulate heart rhythm, blood-pressure and vascular tone.
-
May aid digestion and bowel regularity: Magnesium citrate is known to draw water into the intestines and can help with occasional constipation.
-
Supports energy production and enzyme activity: Magnesium is a co-factor for hundreds of enzyme systems, helping with metabolism of fats, proteins and carbohydrates.
⚠️ Things to Keep in Mind:
-
The extent of benefit depends on your baseline magnesium status — if you’re deficient, these benefits may be more noticeable.
-
Because magnesium citrate has a mild laxative effect, if you take it in higher doses it might cause looser stools.
-
It’s always wise to consult your healthcare provider if you have kidney disease, take medications (e.g., diuretics, heart or blood‐pressure meds) or are pregnant/nursing.
