Solal – L-Lysine 500mg 120 Caplets

Description

L-lysine helps boost the immune system and treats cold sores. Some evidence suggests that L-lysine may be beneficial in the reduction of Lipoprotein (a), a cardiovascular toxin. L-lysine stimulates the release of human growth hormone and may facilitate muscle growth.

Pharmacological Action
L-lysine is required for collagen synthesis and it may be important to bone health. L-lysine’s therapeutic effect on bone could be related to an improvement of nitric oxide (NO) production and type 1 collagen synthesis by oestoblasts both in normal and in osteopenic bone. L-lysine antagonises herpes simplex virus (HSV) growth in vitro and this effect may be important clinically. Research suggests that lysine enhances the renewal of structural proteins and may prevent the deterioration of aneurysms.

Dosage Directions
Adults and children over 12 years of age: Take 2 caplets two or three times daily. Children 7 to 12 years of age: Take 1 caplet twice daily. Take on an empty stomach (i.e. 2 hours or more after meals, or 30 minutes or more before meals).

Do not exceed recommended dosages unless on the advice of a health care provider. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Side Effects
Rare side effects include diarrhoea and abdominal pain.

Product Interactions
Calcium supplements: Concomitant use may increase supplemental calcium absorption and decrease urine calcium loss.

Safety in pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established, do not use.
