Description
Tasectan Adult 500mg 8 Capsules
Tasectan is a medical device designed to help restore the natural function of the intestinal wall and reduce the symptoms of acute diarrhea in adults and adolescents (14 years+).
Its active ingredient, gelatin tannate, works by forming a protective film on the intestinal mucosa. This protective layer helps reduce irritation, shortens the duration of diarrhea, and supports the recovery of normal gut balance.
Pack size: 8 capsules
Age group: Adults & adolescents 14+
Category: Acute diarrhea relief
How it works:
Tasectan works via a physical/“mechanical” mechanism rather than via antimicrobial or pharmacological action:
-
Gelatin tannate (the active ingredient) forms a thin protective biofilm (or “mantle”) over the intestinal mucosa.
-
This film helps protect the intestinal wall, reducing irritation and inflammation.
-
It also helps reduce the duration and frequency of diarrhea episodes, and promotes restoration of normal gut function.
Benefits:
-
Reduces frequency of diarrhea episodes.
-
Shortens duration of diarrhea.
-
Forms protective shield over the gut lining — helps with gut membrane irritation and inflammation.
-
Helps restore normal mucosal resistance to pro-inflammatory/irritant factors.
-
Works without systemic absorption (low risk of systemic side-effects).
Ingredients:
-
Active ingredient: Gelatin tannate, 500 mg per capsule.
-
Other (inactive) ingredients: Corn starch; Magnesium stearate.
⚠️ Cautions / Special Notes:
-
Not meant for infants under 14 years (there are pediatric formulations for younger children).
-
If symptoms persist beyond a couple of days or are severe (fever, blood in stools, dehydration), seek medical advice.

-
Use along with adequate fluid replacement (to avoid dehydration), and maintain light diet as tolerated.
