PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION
Prevents growth of prostate cells by different mechanisms:
Saw palmetto extract suppresses conversion of testosterone into dihydrotestosterone New Eng J Med 2006,364:557). Chrysin suppresses conversion of testosterone into estrogen.
INTERACTIONS
Saw palmetto may increase the risk of bleeding when used together with anticoagulant /antiplatelet drugs (J Int Med 2001, 250:167). Because of its antiplatelet activity, it may cause excessive bleeding after surgery. No Interactions have been described for nettle root extract, chrysin and lycopene at normal dosage levels.
DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS OF USE
Take one one capsule twice per day. If body weight exceeds 80Kg, increase dose to three capsules per day. Ensure adequate intake of Zinc by taking a good vitamin & mineral supplement.
